Using Maths Genie Wrong? Fix This and Improve Faster

Maths Genie is one of the best free resources out there. But most students use it in a good way… not an amazing way.

And that difference matters.

Key Problems

  1. You use great resources badly. You watch the video, maybe try a few questions, then move on.

That feels productive. But it’s not powerful.

  1. You don’t complete the sheets. So gaps stay hidden.

  2. You don’t return to mistakes. Which means the same errors repeat.

Good use = exposure.Amazing use = improvement.

Action 1: Always Follow the Full Cycle

Every topic must go:

  1. Watch the video

  2. Try the questions

  3. Mark your answers

  4. Fix your mistakes

Never skip a step.

Write this at the top of your page: Watch → Try → Mark → Fix

That is real revision.

Action 2: Complete Every Question Sheet

Do not cherry-pick.

Do:

  • All the questions

  • Even the boring ones

  • Especially the ones you get wrong

Unfinished sheets = unfinished learning.

Action 3: Print the Sheets if You Can

Printed work is better because:

  • You can write clearly

  • You can circle mistakes

  • You can highlight patterns

It feels more real. And you take it more seriously.

Action 4: Highlight Your Mistakes

When marking:

  • Use a highlighter

  • Mark every wrong question

These are not failures. They are your personal syllabus.

Action 5: Build a “Return List”

On the front of your book write: Questions to Return To

Every week:

  • Pick 3 highlighted questions

  • Redo them

  • Check improvement

This is where progress accelerates.

Action 6: Stop Racing Through Topics

Slow mastery beats fast coverage.

Better to:

  • Fully understand 3 topicsThan:

  • Half-learn 10

Depth beats speed.

Final Thought

Maths Genie is powerful. But only if you use it properly.

Good use feels busy. Amazing use builds results.

Slow down. Complete everything. Return to your mistakes.
