Not On Track to Pass? Do This Before It’s Too Late

When you feel like you’re not on track to pass, everything becomes emotional. Panic. Pressure. Regret.

But panic is not a plan. And you still have control.

Key Problems

  1. It feels miles awayPassing doesn’t feel achievable. It feels unrealistic.

  2. You feel like you’ve left it too lateSo you freeze. Or avoid revision completely.

  3. You’re panickingWhich makes thinking clearly almost impossible.

Action 1: Forget the Final Grade. Find the Pass Mark

Stop thinking: “I need a pass.”

Start thinking: “What is the pass mark in marks?”

Find:

  • Grade 4 boundary

  • Your current mark

  • The gap between them

Example:

  • Pass = 45

  • You’re on 30

  • You need +15 marks

That is not impossible. That is specific.

Action 2: Identify the Easiest Marks First

Passing is not about mastering everything. It’s about collecting marks efficiently.

Look for:

  • Basics

  • One-step questions

  • Repeated topics

These are your fastest wins.

Make a list: “These topics will get me marks quickly.”

Action 3: Build a Pass-Focused Revision Plan

Your plan is not: Revise everything.

Your plan is: Revise what gets marks.

Structure:

  • 3 easy topics per week

  • 20–30 minutes per session

  • Practice → mark → fix

This is targeted.This is efficient.

Action 4: Calm Your Nervous System First

You can’t revise properly in panic.

Do this:

  • Breathe in for 4

  • Hold for 4

  • Out for 6

Repeat 3 times.

Now start.

Action 5: Stop Thinking in Weeks. Think in Sessions

Not: “I only have 6 weeks.”

But: “I have 18 sessions.”

Each session is progress.

Small steps beat big fear.

Final Thought

Passing is not about perfection. It’s about control.

Find the marks. Target the topics.Stay calm.
